I just did a test fit on the neck of my OM. Took a little adjustment to get it centered. Checked along face of neck with a straight edge from nut to tail block. If all this comes up straight and true as it did in my check, is it a good sign? I`m really impressed with how things are going with the body and neck fit, if I do say so myself>

Better sign than if it did not Now It really does not put anything in stone till the bridge is installed I have see a couple very nice guitars that the neck to centerline angle was a tad (1/16 or so) off but the relationship between the bridge and neck/fretboard is good then all is well. That is critical

Don't forget to check the angle. Put a straight edge on the fretboard and check it against the bridge. Without frets installed, it should line up even with the top of the bridge.

Or up to 5/64 over the top of the bridge. This will set the necks back set angle. Equal to the bridge is good but if you fudge fudge over the bridge height not under as that would set the neck angle forward. A back set angle is requird to compensate for the forward pull of the strings on the peghead and upper neck. If this angle is set so that the line of the FB is lower than the bridge you will end up with a progessivly high string action set as you play closer to the body. If set to far above the bridge you will get a progressivly to low string action setas you move clser to the body. Somewhere between, even with and a 1/16 or 5/64 above works pretty good.MichaelP38755.6618634259
